Unity in the Body

Phil 2:1-4  1If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

I think this is key for our unity for the church. To stay united and encouraged in christ. And fellowship in the spirit. I am glad to say that I am in a body of Christ that has this vision. Learning to not be selfish, being like minded,, having the same love. I like vs 3 do nothing selfish ambition but in humility consider others better than my self. I can see this in other churches, and sometimes in my own church. It seems so simple, but why sometimes so hard? I think the selfishness kicks in and then it spins out of wake. So as long as we stay focused on others, encouragement, and staying humbled will always take our church and churches over world. Go further to share the gospel. Also knowing that we all play apart in his body, is just another reason to stay focused on our goal together.

5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8And being found in appearance as a man,  he humbled himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This just confirm that we should do this because it is exactly what Christ did. He gave his life, selfishly for us. He had to humble his self and obey God because the blessing that was gonna come. If he was disobedient and did what he wanted then (and get prideful) it could of been a mess. So again Christ is our ultimate focus and goal of who we need to be. Thanks Jesus, you are the greatest
