Iron sharpens Iron
Today this lust/porn thing came out again with another man I talked to. This is just so insane how many men struggle with it. I told him about what my yesterdays post was about(James 5:16) , which goes along with Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. If men don’t stand together about this, pray together, keep each other accountable about this. And it stays quiet then “there will never be healing” clearly. This is so insane to me and that the fact as men we (I) use to down plan this sickness, and because it is so excepted and Satan the king of deception, deceives us that its ok, it gets rooted deeper and deeper, into younger and younger men/boys. Its just that if we don’t take scripture to heart ( John 10:9-11 Satan comes to steal kill and destroy, but Only Jesus can give life) and the fact that we down play certain sin (this one specifically) that is starts to destroy us as men. It destroys marriages. It is killing us as men and destroying life and we still take it lightly. So crazy. It was destroying me inside and I was hiding it for so long. So thats why when I say I am excited about my healing in this area, I don’t think any words can express my excitement!! Anyways if we are healed accountable, are open and their for one another. Then we will sharpen each other in this area and see victory over this. I love it and am so crazy excited about what healing is taking place, and what is gonna take place.
I am just excited to see such healing in me that I can share it with other men and encourage them that they too can be healed.
No doubt your hiding this deceptive tool of Satan kept your eyes close to the fact that 99.9%, if not all, men have dealt with this problem of lust. It’s like you said, the world makes it so expectable. I personally believe the media, mainly the TV, plays a big part in the problem. From a young age they desensitize us to a lot of things and demoralize women and make it seem like its okay to do/watch the sinful things they air. We then realize, or believe, that it’s not that big of deal. I have not spoken to one man, and I’ve spoken to a lot, that have not dealt, with lust, at one time or another, in their life. Billy Gramm would not be in the same room or car or be in any situation that he would be alone with another women, EVER! Not that he had a problem with lust; he said, he just would not put himself in a situation that could give the Devil a foot hold. He also said “You can let a bird fly over your head but don’t let it build a nest in your hair” I think you can see the medefore
Stay strong my son God is with you, and yes steel dose sharpen steel, but it also cuts deep. We live by the power of our words. God created EVERYTHING with words. That’s why it so important to teach our children young, what to say, what to watch, what NOT to watch. Your doing GREAT Tim and you have many that stand beside you, and yes, even going through the same battle and you may not even know they are, but through your example they too are getting help.
