James 5:16

I have decided to finish Romans once I finish this book/workbok I am going through called pure desire. I am finding it hard to do a study in one book and then spend another hour or so in another. So I am gonna finish this pure desire first.

So it had me reading in James 5:16  Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

This was the very verse that had me confess my sin in September of 2006. I don’t think It fully effected me because I didn’t let it. This time around has been huge for me. I am seeing major healing in my life and I am extremely excited about it. I have had victory one these things in my life. I read on some commentary about this verse and it talked about not only does it bring healing to the person confessing but will bring healing to those that may be having the same struggle and will bring forth healing on them. And in my case I have had many other men tell me they struggle too. So we can pray for one another, part of the beginning of the verse. But I really like the second half because this is what I missed before. Because you know how many times I and many others say confess sin before your brothers and you may be healed. But I never hear the second half of this verse. “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” ok effective, fervent (deff. having or displaying a passionate intensity) prayers of a righteous man. So once I share with my brothers ask for forgiveness in Jesus. He alone is righteous! So if I am passionate in my prayers towards them then “man avails much (avails deff to be of use; have force or efficacy; serve; help, to be of value or profit) man how crazy is that. We don’t ust get healing once we confess which seems easy to say now, but I must be fervent, passionate in my prayer to the only righteous one Jesus and then I will profit much because I stayed obedient. Man how crazy is that one verse. Thanks again Jesus for being so amazing. I love you

One Response to “James 5:16”

  1. That is crazy, Wow, just the day before you wrote this I suggested you call and pray with Daddy John,(832.286.8008) I really hope you take this to heart Tim. He is an amazing man of prayer and it would really help him in his time of grief.( I’ve told him nothing about you/this.) I Know your study will go well, I look forward to it and I think your plan is wise, you don’t want to spread yourself to thin. I pray for you many times a day, and know God is with US.
    I love you son.
